The Ogden High Spirit Squad is composed of the Ogden High cheer teams, pom team, stunt team, and mascots. Anyone interested in being a part of any of these should speak with Coach Kristie in room 8 of Ogden High School or email us at ogdenhighcheer@gmail.com. Below is a a brief description of each team and the time commitments for each. Cheer- Ogden High Cheer is the only competitive and game day cheerleading program at Ogden High School. It is a year round commitment. We have mandatory summer practices as well as summer camp. We practice around 12 hours a week, cheer at home and away football games, home and away boys and girls basketball games, perform at pep rally's and assemblies, performances and appearances at community events, as well as compete at local and national competitions. Our routines focus on motions, jumps, tumbling, and stunting, Pom- Pom is a newer addition to our spirit squad. Pom is similar to that of a college dance team. They will cheer at games and perform band dances but their routines focus more on turns, leaps, and dance technique. Pom will cheer at all home football games, specific basketball games, perform at pep rally's and assemblies, performances and appearances at community events, as well as compete at local competitions. Pom is not UHSAA regulated therefore dancers are welcome to still participate in studio dance as long as the schedule does not conflict. They will perform hip hop, pom, and other dance routines. STUNT- Stunt is a competition ONLY team. They do not cheer at any games. They are required to be at certain home basketball games to stunt during timeouts and breaks. Stunt members learn elite level stunting and tumbling. Stunt members do not practice over the summer but are expected to attend weekly open gyms at the school. Stunt members attend camp with the cheerleading team and compete with them at local and national competitions. Mascots- Mascots are essential in promoting school spirit in the school and around the community, There are typically 2-3 mascots who split the duties of attending games, school events, community events, and potentially competing with the cheerleading team at nationals! The Ogden High Spirit Squad primary objective is raising spirit at the school and in the community. They are expected to maintain a high standard in academics, attendance, and perception. 10/26/2019 0 Comments TO Smith Trunk or TreatThis week the zombie cheerleaders of Ogden High stopped by the TO Smith for some trunk or treat fun!
